Kevin Szarzynski Memorial Scholarship
Since 2006, the Eden Prairie Baseball Association has been proud to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors, living in Eden Prairie, who meet the following criteria:
- Past or present involvement in Eden Prairie Baseball
- Support for the community and/or youth baseball programs and activities.
- Current involvement in Eden Prairie Baseball will be taken into consideration for the scholarship recipients
- High standards of personal conduct
- Leadership qualities
- Academic achievement
This scholarship is provided in memory of Kevin Szarzynski, and it is offered as a testament to the importance of community and togetherness - remembering that baseball teams create experiences that go beyond the 9th inning.
About Kevin Szarzynski
Kevin Joseph Szarzynski fought his final battle with depression on April 2, 2006, at the age of 20. He was a student at Mankato State University and a 2004 graduate of Eden Prairie High School. His strong personality and love of all sports are greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Harris and Mary Jo Szarzynski, and is survived by his parents, Ron & Gail; brothers, Ryan & fiancee Sara, Kyle, Justin; grandparents, Joe, Lorraine and Floyd; aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog, Licky.
