The 2027 Eden Prairie American Legion registration is now open!. Please register and join us for tryouts on September 19, 2026, at Franlo Park in Eden Prairie. Specific times and details are below.

Under the leadership of Senior Legion Coach, Logan Krenik, the Eden Prairie American Legion baseball program focuses on these goals:

  • Focused on fundamental skill development, including off-season training.
  • Ensure players have opportunity to play baseball
  • Gain independence where the boys travel as a team to an out of state tournament
  • When skills are developed and teamwork is built, the team will can more effectively compete on the field!
  • Keep baseball FUN!


Teams & Games:

The program plans to field 4 teams competing at the follow levels:

Senior Legion 1: Consists of the best players in the program regardless of age, but generally juniors and seniors. This team competes against the top teams from other programs. The season culminates with a tournament trail that starts with substate then state, regionals and the Legion World Series.

Senior Legion 2: Consists mostly of juniors and seniors, but could be any age level. This team competes against the 2nd team from other programs. This team also competes in the Senior Legion season end tournament.

Junior Legion 1: Consists of the best players in the freshman/sophomore grades and occasionally juniors that haven't turned 17 by January 1st. This team competes against the top underclassmen teams from other programs. The season culminates with a tournament trail that includes substate and state.

Junior Legion 2: Consists mostly of freshman and sophomores. This team competes against the 2nd junior team from other programs and also participates in the junior legion tournament trail at the end of the season.

The Legion program starts after the high school season ends for your respective grade level. Regular season/league games will be played during the week across the metro area. There will be one out of town tournament trip for each team. In the past, these trips have been to Missouri, Arkansas, South Dakota, North Dakota, etc. There will also be 1 or 2 additional tournaments within the metro area. In total, teams will play about 25-30 games in a ~7 week period.


Registration: 

  • Registration is for players in 9th grade-12th grade and select first-year college players who were born after January 1, 2008. 
  • Generally, players must either: (1) attend Eden Prairie schools, (2) live in Eden Prairie and attend a private/home school, or (3) graduated from Eden Prairie High School the prior year and meet the age eligibility requirement.
  • Registration fees includes 2-3 weekly winter training sessions at a nearby indoor facility and the EPHS Dome. All led by Coach Krenik and his staff.
  • Registration is open until Friday, September 18, 2026. 


Fall Tryouts:

  • Mandatory Fall tryouts are on Saturday, September 19 at Franlo Park
  • 11:00a - 12:00pm for players in 9th or 10th grade
  • 12:00p - 1:00pm for players in 11th or 12th grade
  • This tryout is primarily for program-wide planning purposes and to determine whether a player makes a Legion team. 
  • Final teams will be announced in late April or early May during the high school season.
  • Outdoor Tryout Attire:
  • Players should wear baseball pants (or long pants), a baseball hat, and cleats.
  • Players should bring their own glove, helmet, and bat. A very limited amount of equipment will be available to borrow if needed.


Legion Cost: 

  • The cost for Legion registration in the fall is $700 and is refundable until December 1 , 2026; after December 1, there are no refunds. 
  • There is a second fee charged in the spring, which in the past has been $900-$1000. 
  • More information will be available about total program cost in November.
